Mexico to play five exhibition games in U.S. next year before World Cup
Mexico will play five international friendlies in the United States next year before the World Cup, including a March matchup against Ghana, a first-round opponent of the U.S. team.
Mexico will play Ghana on March 1 in the Dallas area, Soccer United Marketing said Wednesday. The United States plays the Black Stars on June 22 at Nuremberg, Germany, in the final first-round game for the Americans at the World Cup,
Mexico meets Norway on Jan. 25 at San Francisco, four days before Norway plays the United States in Carson, California. The Mexicans play South Korea on Feb. 15 at Los Angeles, Paraguay on March 29 at Chicago and a yet-to-be-announced opponent on May 12 at Pasadena, California.

France to play Mexico and Denmark in warm-up games
France are to take on Mexico and Denmark in World Cup warm-up matches next year.
Les Bleus will host Mexico, one of the eight seeds in the World Cup, at the Stade de France in Paris on May 27, the French Football Federation said in a statement on its website on Thursday.
France, who are also seeds, will then entertain Denmark, who failed to qualify for the finals in Germany, at the Stade Bollaert in Lens four days later.
A third game is scheduled on June 7 but the opponents and venue are not yet
Mexico beats Hungary in friendly
Francisco Fonseca and Joel Huiqui both scored goals in each half and Mexico beat Hungary 2-0 Wednesday night in an exhibition match.
The win was the first in seven games against a European team for Mexico since Ricardo La Volpe took over as national coach after the 2002 World Cup.
The exhibition was part of the Mexico's five-game U.S. tour in preparation for the World Cup in Germany next year.

U.S. blanks Mexico, earns World Cup spot
There was no better way for the United States to make the World Cup than with a shutout victory over Mexico.
The Americans are headed to next year's soccer championship in Germany after beating the Mexicans 2-0 Saturday night thanks to goals by Steve Ralston and DaMarcus Beasley five minutes apart in the second half.
"We had one blemish on our record when we lost in Mexico City," coach Bruce Arena said, "and it was nice to get that back, and it was very special to qualify against our archrivals."

Mexicos Borgetti to miss rest of group matches
Mexican striker Jared Borgetti will miss the rest of his countrys World Cup Group D matches, the teams doctor said.
Borgetti, who had to be replaced with a leg injury in Monday mornings (AEST) 3-1 World Cup victory over Iran, will certainly be out of action for eight to 10 days, team doctor Jose Luis Serrano told reporters.
After evaluation this morning, he will not play any of the group games, but hopefully he will be back after then, he said.

Argentine soccer player Walter Gaitan told Mexican sports daily Record on Friday, that he is willing to change nationality and play for Mexico in the soccer World Cup, after an invite from Mexico coach Ricardo Lavolpe.
"I love Argentina, but I have been here more time now, and I really identify more with the people of Mexico. If I have a chance to represent them, I am going to give it my best shot," he said.
