Australia, Mexico to explore FTA
Australia and Mexico will explore the viability of a free trade agreement between the two countries.
Foreign ministers Alexander Downer met Mexican counterpart Luis Ernesto Derbez in Mexico City, who said both countries would have to study whether such an accord would benefit their bilateral trade.
“In March we will have a meeting here of the bilateral economic committee, where we can talk about … starting a strategy for considering a free trade agreement,” Derbez told a news conference following the meeting.
He said that toward the end of 2006, government officials should have a better idea of the possibility of such an agreement, but that no deadline had been set for a decision.
Downer called it “a positive idea", noting “we are just talking about exploring both countries’ available options".
“If we were to negotiate a free trade accord, we would have to see what areas of our economy would benefit from such a pact,” Downer said.
He predicted that “Mexico and Australia are going to become important (trading) partners".

Cozumel
The town, San Miguel de Cozumel, is a seedy, overpriced version ofPlaya del Carmen. C Daily tour groups arrive on cruises from Miami and Cancun, and the towns' services seem geared towards this type of tourist. But Cozumel is a mecca for scuba divers, with many beautiful offshore reefs to explore, as well as much interesting wildlife and bird life. Travellers looking for a beach holiday with some nightlife will find the island disap¬pointing compared to Playa del Carmen. There is only one nice beach, on the west side, and the eastern, Atlantic coast is
Women Intl Friendly Preview: USA v. Mexico
The United States Women’s National Team will finish out their rather anemic 2005 schedule tomorrow against a young side from Mexico. They hope to continue their 838-minute, yearlong shutout streak, which started the last time these two squads met, a 5-0 victory last December—the farewell match for Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, and Joy Fawcett.
U.S. coach Greg Ryan has made four changes to the squad since last Sunday’s game against Australia, the most significant of which is the addition of forward Heather O’Reilly. With her speed, she is sure to create some chances either
Mexico teach Joeys a lesson
Australia has been knocked out of the FIFA U-17 World Championship after suffering a 3-0 defeat against Mexico in Peru on Tuesday morning.
Mexico dominated Australia for lengthy periods in the first half and were two goals to the good by the interval hitting the net after 20 minutes through Omar Esparza and then on 43 minutes via the boot of Carlos Vela (pictured). A second goal for Vela and the third for Mexico in the 79th minute effectively ended the contest.
"We started slowly today and allowed the Mexicans to get on top early," said
How to reach Mexico?
By far the most popular style of transport is independent travel relying on the network of buses of varying quality that criss-cross Central America and Mexico. Bus travel is certainly a very good way to get a feel for the countries you are travelling through. But don't shun the occasional opportunity to take a short flight - the view from above has the benefit of providing a different perspective.
Travelling under your own steam is also very popular and brings with it a freedom to explore that bus travel simply does not allow. We provide details on driving
Sex mall highlights changing attitudes in Mexico
In the heart of Mexico City's historic district, a Colonial-style building houses a sexual revolution of sorts.
It's a new mall dedicated to sex and adult entertainment. There are 100 shops in all, specializing in lingerie, alluring scents, erotic jewelry and publications.
"It's very new," said sex mall developer Alberto Kibrit. "We don't have a lot of competition."
Sex is a growth industry in Mexico as more people are open to explore the topic in this predominantly Catholic country.
The mall is brightly painted and well-lit. The developer wanted to create an open atmosphere,
HANOVER, Germany, June 25 (Reuters) - Captain Rafael Marquez will make a welcome return on Sunday when Mexico, shaken by a doping case involving two of their players, face Argentina in Hanover for a place in the Confederations Cup final.
World soccer's governing body FIFA says it has been informed by Mexico that Aaron Galindo and Salvador Carmona were sent home earlier this week after testing positive in doping controls that took place before the start of the tournament.
The absence of the Cruz Azul duo deprives Mexico of two more defenders when they battle a powerful Argentina side for the right

Sihoplaya & Seybaplaya
Highways 180 and 261 are combined for 17 km until the latter darts off east on its way to Edzna and Hopclchen (bypassing Campeche, should this be desired). A 66-km toll autopista, paralleling Highway 180, just inland from the southern outskirts of Champotdn to Campeche, is much quicker than the old highway. Champoton and Seybaplaya are bypassed. But from the old Highwav 180, narrow and slow with speed bumps you can reach the resort of Sihoplaya. Here is the widely known C Hotel Siho Playa, T62989. A former sugar hacienda with a beautiful setting and beach facilities,
